Mapping Unsustainable Health and Sanitation practices at the Pashmina Weaving Unit in Shankarpur Village


The Paper is written by Anwesh sahoo & Swati Mishra under Faculty Advisor Dr. Varsha Gupta. We got the opportunity to Present the paper at National Seminar on Craft Interventions held at National Institute of fashion Technology, New delhi, where we stood as winners.

In the month of February we visited Pashmina Weaving unit at the village Shankarpur (Dehradun, Uttarakhand) to study the system and map Unsustainability in order to Propose actionable solutions.

The following Paper was proposed and it was presented along with a poster.







The Poster & Video

The poster, titled "The Womb of Pashmina", was made Interactive by adding a screen to it. The screen played a video showing our jouney and our observations. It also reflected our Perspective towards the other side of the coin. The world sees the charm and the romance surmounding the crafts of India, we paid attention to the Artisans whose sweat Sculpt the Face of rich heritage of India.
